Franklin David Murphy (1916-1994) was the Chancellor at the University of Kansas (1951-60), Chancellor at UCLA (1960-68), Chairman of the Board and CEO (1968) and Chairman of the Executive Committee (1981-86) of the Times Mirror Company.
